Fantastic and comprehensive list, Stratocaster. When I have more time to review I may add another show or 2, tho' it's hard to see holes in this 15.

One I would add off the top, tho', is 1/10/79, one of I think the last great Keith/Donna shows, featuring a truly funky "Shakedown" with incredible outro guitar jam by Jerry, and a best-all-time nominee "Miracle" that is flawless and features a much longer outro jam section by Jerry than usually heard. And of course you get a Dark Star thrown in for good measure. All around great show.

p.s. Random personal anecdote, the next night 1/11/79, was my first-ever show. Not as good but contains one of the best jack Straws you'll ever hear. Unfortunately, neither night has a good existing SBD.

if they ever officially released 10-29, would you buy it, or are you happy with the 17 versions you have on your hard drive and on disc?

I'll answer for GC, as in "yes"...I always find w fav shows, like 10-12-68, 12-29-68 & 9-19-70 that a new version is never that diff from all the prior ones, BUT the hope that an official release will be (and always has been, for me, even with 8-6-71) something even more special opens the wallet.

I think of 8-6 as the one example, expounded on by elb, that the AUD which is sooo special it had us all spoiled, and may even surpass the SBD/official release (admittedly, a one of a kind AUD) in "appeal", but I still love the release as it lets you hear things you can't in the AUD (they truly are "equally" good, in diff ways...just listen to the baseline/drums in Mr Charlie, something you can't hear well in the AUD, etc.).

That 5/18/77 show is one of my all-time favorites. Good call.

Yes, nice additions. Especially 5/18/77. 1/15/79 has a great Miracle> Shakedown to start set two.

Ha! The question wouldn't be whether I'd buy an official copy, but how many.

(Seriously, as great as the Charlie Miller upgrade to that show is, what I wouldn't give to hear an official copy as good-sounding as say, 5/25/77 (Dave's #5) or 5/28 (To Terrapin). Those are both great shows but they don't even hold a candle in my estimation to 10/29.)
